Pixavif converts in the background with Action Scheduler, the same queue WooCommerce uses. The queue is started by WP-Cron, which runs when your site gets visits and can call itself. If scheduled conversions are more than 15 minutes late, something is stopping that call.
Meanwhile, keep the Pixavif page open: conversion continues while it is open.
Common causes
| Cause | Fix |
|---|---|
| DISABLE_WP_CRON is set in wp-config.php | Add a real server cron job (below), or remove the line. |
| Password protection or maintenance mode on the whole site | Allow requests to wp-cron.php, or add a server cron job. |
| A firewall or security plugin blocks loopback requests | Allow your server to call its own domain. Site Health under Tools shows a loopback error when this is the case. |
| Very low traffic site | A server cron job makes it independent of visits. |
Add a server cron job
In your hosting panel, add a cron job that runs every 5 minutes:
*/5 * * * * wget -q -O - "https://example.com/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron" >/dev/null 2>&1
Replace example.com with your domain. With WP-CLI available, wp action-scheduler run also works.
